Relational Mindfulness
Cultivating awareness, acceptance, and connection —
within yourself and with others.
What is Relational Mindfulness?
Relational mindfulness brings the often-described intrapersonal qualities of mindfulness – awareness and acceptance in the present moment – to interpersonal relationships. With relational mindfulness, one is cultivating a nonjudgmental awareness with self, other, and the relational process as it unfolds in the moment.
By being embodied, empathetic, and effective with ourselves and others, we can transform all of our relationships. Throughout this process, a systemic and contextual lens is incorporated that acknowledges the ways that culture and identity impact our well-being, our relationships, and our embodied experience in the world. This framework is the foundation of the training, supervision, and therapeutic services that we provide at the Institute for Relational Mindfulness.
