Therapy for Expecting and New Parents in Bellingham, Washington

The transition to parenthood is one of the most meaningful — and vulnerable — seasons in a relationship. I specialize in supporting individuals and couples in pre-baby therapy and the early postpartum period, helping you intentionally prepare yourselves and your partnership for the changes ahead. As the creator of the evidence-based Mindful Transition to Parenthood Program - I have extensive knowledge and experience in what is needed for new parent couples.

Together, we strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, and build tools for navigating stress, sleep deprivation, shifting roles, and attachment triggers before they become lasting injuries. I can help to be the best parent and partner you can be through this massive life and identity shift.

I work with a wide range of families during the perinatal period — honoring that families are formed and defined in many ways. This includes LGBTIQ+ and queer families, single parents, and those who have come to parenthood through IVF, surrogacy, adoption, fostering, or other paths.

I bring a socio-cultural lens to this work, recognizing that identity, gender, marginalization, and larger systems shape not only our journey into parenthood, but how we parent, how we understand ourselves in that role, and the experiences and sense of belonging our children and families carry forward. I also pay close attention to how gendered expectations and cultural norms impact mental load, invisible labor, and parenting roles. These dynamics are often talked about openly, but they are among the most common sources of resentment, disconnection, and frustration in new parent partnerships.

Additionally, my office in Bellingham is designed with your needs in mind — with comfort amenities like a rocking chair and baby rocker — so you can bring your whole experience (and your baby) into the room. Or we can meet virtually, from the comfort of your home.

You don’t have to do this alone.
